Default Shingles - how long does it take to go? (shingles)

Hi

Can shingles clear up as quickly as in a day or two?

This Saturday I was feverish, tired and when I went to sleep for about
12-hours.

Sunday night, had a bit of discomfort and didn't sleep too good.

Monday saw a mild rash on my chest..., but didn't see it on my back.
Later in the afternoon I went to the doctors and straight away, he
said it was shingles...., the rash had got deeper red and the front
and back had almost joined on my right side.

Since Monday evening I have been taking 250mg of Famciclovir 3 times a
day.

Now it's Wednesday evening, the rash has almost gone and I'm bouncing
off walls.

All the supplements and information that I've read suggests anywhere
from 2 to 6-weeks of sufference. Hence the question about whether this
condition can clear up as quickly as I'm hoping it can.

Default Shingles - how long does it take to go? (outbreak)

I don't know much about Zoster but I do know it responds to the same
antivirals that the Simplex viruses do. With Simplex, the earlier you
start taking antivirals, the more effect it has on outbreak length so
I imagine it's the same with Zoster. So in answer to your question,
yes I don't see why it wouldn't be possible to clear it up in a matter
of days rather than weeks. Not sure what caused the bouncing though.
That's not a normal side effect of antivirals.
